Anisotropic flow decorrelation in heavy-ion collisions with event-by-event viscous hydrodynamics

چکیده

Decorrelation of the elliptic flow in rapidity is calculated within a hybrid approach which includes event-by-event viscous fluid dynamics and final state hadronic cascade model. The simulations are performed for Au+Au collisions at center-of-mass collision energies 27 200 GeV per nucleon pair, as well various colliding systems 72 pair. Initial conditions determined by an extended Monte Carlo Glauber model show better agreement with experimental data than initial from UrQMD transport We how observed decorrelation connected spatial anisotropies. also study effect increased cascade.

Event-by-event anisotropic flow in heavy-ion collisions from combined Yang-Mills and viscous fluid dynamics.

Anisotropic flow coefficients v(1)-v(5) in heavy ion collisions are computed by combining a classical Yang-Mills description of the early time Glasma flow with the subsequent relativistic viscous hydrodynamic evolution of matter through the quark-gluon plasma and hadron gas phases. The Glasma dynamics, as realized in the impact parameter dependent Glasma (IP-Glasma) model, takes into account ev...

Event-by-event analysis of ultra-relativistic heavy-ion collisions in smoothed particle hydrodynamics

The method of smoothed particle hydrodynamics (SPH) is applied for ultrarelativistic heavy-ion collisions. The SPH method has several advantages in studying event-by-event fluctuations, which attract much attention in looking for quark gluon plasma (QGP) formation, because it gives a rather simple scheme for solving hydrodynamical equations. Using initial conditions for Au+Au collisions at RHIC...

Event-by-event Physics in Relativistic Heavy-ion Collisions

Motivated by forthcoming experiments at RHIC and LHC, and results from SPS, a review is given of the present state of event-by-event fluctuations in ultrarelativistic heavy-ion collisions. Fluctuations in particle multiplicities, ratios, transverse momenta, rapidity, etc. are calculated in participant nucleon as well as thermal models. The physical observables, including multiplicity, kaon to p...

Study of Event-by-event Fluctuations in Heavy Ion Collisions

We propose Kolmogorov-Smirnov test as a means for recognising event-by-event fluctuations of rapidity distributions in relativistic heavy ion collisions. Such fluctuations may be induced by the spinodal decomposition of the rapidly expanding system during the 1st order quark-hadron phase transition.

The Chiral Magnetic Effect: Measuring event-by-event P- and CP-violation with heavy ion-collisions

Gluon field configurations with nonzero topological charge induce Pand CP-odd effects. Such configurations are likely to be produced during heavy ion collisions. In this article, I will argue that in the intense (electromagnetic) magnetic field produced in non-central heavy ion collisions, topological charge creates an electromagnetic current in the direction of the magnetic field. This is the ...
